FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does LICF believe?
LICF has four core values that are rooted in scripture:
-
Everyone is Welcome (John 3:16)
-
Nobody is Perfect (Romans 3:23)
-
With God, You are Unstoppable (Philippians 4:13)
-
God is Not Boring (John 1:3)
What is a non-denominational church?
While we are affiliated with Elim Fellowship in Lima, NY, we are not linked to a specific denomination or organized religious group. This allows our only allegiance to be to the LORD, His Word, without being bound by any additional denominational rules or traditions. We continue to find community with brothers and sisters of Christ anywhere, at any time.

How should I dress?
We want you to be comfortable when you come for services at Life in Christ! We are much more concerned about what is going on inside of a person than what they are wearing on the outside. Some of our folks dress up, some come in business casual, and some show up in jeans. Don’t worry about it- come as you are!

What should I expect when I visit?
We have services at 9:00 am and 11:00 am every Sunday. When you pull in, you will be directed by our parking attendants to find a good spot and greeted at the front door by some friendly faces. Just inside the front doors, you will find our Info Hub, with volunteers who would be happy to answer any questions, offer a visitor’s gift, and show you around! Just beyond the lobby, we have our cafe, stocked with coffee, tea, and cookies for you and your crew.
The Charged Kids check in is located beside the coffee bar. One of our children’s ministry volunteers will be stationed there, ready to answer questions, offer directions, and help your family get settled. For those with children 3 years and under, our Nursery with an attached Nursing Mothers area is just a bit further down the hallway past the cafe and Charged Kids.
Follow the flow of people, and you will find yourself in the sanctuary at the end of the hallway, with ushers and pastoral staff just inside the doors to greet and help you find a good seat!

How long are your services? What are they like?
Our services are just over an hour long. We try to make sure everyone that attends feels welcome and has the opportunity to connect with God. We typically open with a few contemporary praise and worship songs, led by a team with various instruments: keyboard, bass, drums, etc. The goal of our music is to sing songs that set our focus and gratitude toward Jesus. Worship is usually followed by a relevant, Christ-centered message from the Bible. Services close out in prayer, sometimes with an invitation for those that would like, to share their needs with our pairs of prayer partners, comprised of staff and designated volunteers available and ready to offer listening ears, prayers, and support.

Is there something for my children on a Sunday morning?
Absolutely! We have programs available for children from birth through 5th grade during both of our services. Our nursery, for children 0-3, is located in the hallway on your way to the sanctuary. Workers there can help you with our secure check in system and are happy to help your littles get settled in before service begins. There is also an area attached to the nursery for nursing mommas who may need to change, feed, or rock their baby throughout the morning.
Older children, from 4 years through 5th grade, can get their check in stickers at the Charged Kids station located beside the cafe, prior to service. Following worship in the sanctuary, they will be dismissed to walk with our team of Charged Kids volunteers to the multi-purpose room for games and teaching. Once service is over, parents may pick up their young ones from the nursery, or their older children at the Charged Kids door beside the coffee bar.

Have a teenager? Students 6th-12th grade are invited to take notes during service and bring them to Pastor Josh or one of our youth leaders afterward for a candy bar. Swing by the Info Hub for more info.

What is church membership? How do I become a member?
To attend LICF, you do not have to be a member- everyone is welcome here!
However, those who choose to become members should intend to put down roots at LICF, to invest in this church body and the community through serving, giving, and living out their faith. Members are often called on when there are church decisions requiring congregational votes- as such, it is important that members are aware of and align with church beliefs.
In order to become a member of Life in Christ Fellowship, you can pick up a copy of our Constitution, Bylaws, and Beliefs from the Info Hub to look over, and submit an application to be considered.
Membership Applications are available at the Info Hub or they can be found online HERE.
